Laverna is a little known Roman deity, a goddess of thieves, those who transgressed the Eighth Commandment of a more everlasting god: Thou shall not steal. It is also the title of my next novel.
Laws are of course made to protect those who make the laws. The starving poor might be tempted to steal from the comfortably rich, and this has to be prevented. Laverna was on the side of the thieves, but thievery has changed over the years. Or perhaps it was always so?
Nowadays the major thefts are carried out by the rich. They get ever richer and the poor, get progressively poorer. However, do not get confused. My new novel is not a goody two shoes discussion of how the rich profit from the poor. Like its predecessor Aeron, Laverna is a fast moving spy thriller.
The ten second elevator pitch is:
A mysterious group steals the world’s business data; an Australian hacker determines to recover it
The tale involves a mole in MI6, a Russian with the palest blue eyes you ever saw and PLA Unit 61398, the Chinese People Liberation Army hacking team.
The story follows on from Aeron and contains some of the same characters. You might like to read the first as an hors d’oeuvre while waiting for the main course to be finished.
